Established in 2007, Upoma Handicrafts is an institutional income generation program of Ad-din Welfare Center. It is situated on the ground floor of the hospital. Under the Ad-din Community Health and Microfinance program, the aim of this endeavor is to improve the socio-economic status of women and create a market for the products created through direct participation of the women members of the association at home. To implement this goal, skilled training has been given to helpless, poor, widowed and abandoned women in the work area. Various types of Nakshi Kantha, bedsheets, saree, three-piece salwar kamiz, punjabi, fatua and women’s handbags are some of the popular categories of goods to be found in the store.

Located on the 6th floor of the Ashraf Ali Building, our Coronary Care Unit consists of 5 specialist doctors, 10 nurses and a ward boy. There are 10 beds at the disposal of patients in need of critical cardiac service. Electrocardiography is used for constantly monitoring the patients’ cardiac rhythm, which allows for early intervention with medication, cardioversion or defibrillation, improving the prognosis. As arrhythmias are relatively common in this group, patients with myocardial infarction or unstable angina are routinely admitted to the coronary care unit. For symptoms such as atrial fibrillation, a specific indication is generally necessary. However, in case of other issues, such as heart block, coronary care unit admission is standard.

With the vision to provide critical aid to cope with the pandemic situation, Ad-din Medical College Hospital has established a modern COVID-19 Wing in a separate building. Our skilled phlebotomists can collect samples from your location upon request. Using our onsite laboratory (Bangladesh Government approved), we can guarantee same day results for individuals and corporations.
Test reports include a formal laboratory certificate (with QR code for authentication) which is approved for both clinical diagnostic and international travel purposes.

There are two special Dental Units where all types of dental treatment like scaling, filling, root canal treatment, surgical extractions, non-surgical extractions, operculectomy, crown bridge, removable partial denture pulpectomy, pulpotomy, denture removal, grinding, deciduous tooth extraction are performed.

Considering the needs of patients’ attendants and visitors, AMCH started departmental store named Utsha. Children’s toys and various necessities can be found in the store. It is located at the ground floor of the hospital building. The basic necessary items for diseased patients and their attendants can be found at the goods of this stall within reasonable price so that they do not have to go out for everyday items.

Infant ICU is a service available for children who are 0-1 years old and in need of critical care. The infant ICU of AWMCH is situated on the 5th floor of Momin Building and houses all the modern technologies including life support. There are 10 beds in this unit. All doctors and nurses from the NICU are assigned to take care of the patients admitted here, which ensures the best care that AWMCH has to offer.

Internal Medicine Department provides an individualized, compassionate approach to adolescent, adult and geriatric medicine. This expertise enables doctors to treat both common illnesses and complex medical conditions.

Located at the 3rd floor of the Ashraf Ali Building, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a specialized facility dedicated to patients who require intensive monitoring, nursing care and complex respiratory support. The ICU is staffed 24 hours a day by 14 board-certified specialists and 31 seasoned critical care nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are committed to providing quality clinical care.

With a ceiling-mounted service unit to house medical equipment and deliver critical power, the beds in our ICU are no longer tethered to the wall. This allows the beds to be rotated and positioned freely to the most optimum environment. The ICU is also positioned in close proximity to the operating theatres so patients can receive emergency treatment as quickly as possible.

The High Dependency Unit (HDU) is for patients who require a higher level of observation, treatment and nursing care than that offered in a general ward but not so much that it requires admission into intensive care. For those moving into the HDU from the intensive care facilities, this move is often seen as a welcome sign of progress as it means that the patient is improving, gradually establishing more normal eating and sleeping patterns, and is a step closer to going home. It is adjacent to the ICU on the same floor, with 8 dedicated beds. The red zone is also located nearby for patients with critical conditions, with 7 dedicated beds.

The Pathology Laboratory of Ad-din Medical College Hospital went into operation with a manpower strength of 20 personnel and only 5 major equipments. The Pathology Laboratory comprises most disciplines linked to patient care including clinical biochemistry, hematology, clinical microbiology, immunology and histopathology. The Pathology Laboratory essentially analyzes biological samples for diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, drug monitoring and screening.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is located at the 5th floor of the Ashraf Ali Building, which specializes in the monitoring and care of ill or premature new-born infants. The NICU also admits babies with congenital problems or trauma during delivery and combines sophisticated equipment with trained healthcare professionals to provide specialized care for newborn infants. The 100-bed-unit consists of numerous child specialists, assisted by 100 nurses and 4 receptionists.

Our OT complex is designed to facilitate seven Operation Theatres alongside its ancillary departments. The main OT complex located in the ground floor acts as a round the clock hub for the various surgical procedures conducted in this hospital.

Postnatal care (PNC) is the care given to the mother and her newborn baby immediately after birth and for the first six weeks of life. This period marks the establishment of a new phase of family life for women and their partners and the beginning of the lifelong health record for newborn babies (or neonates — a term often used by doctors, nurses and midwives).
